Yard waste collection ending the week of December 1-5

The last week for curbside yard waste collection before the winter season will be December 1-5. It will resume again the week of March 3, 2026. Residents may continue to take advantage of the City’s free yard waste drop-off program at any Community Recycling Centre (CRC).

The annual pause in yard waste collection is based on waste tonnage data, which shows that peak yard waste disposal typically occurs in mid-November and declines steadily as winter approaches.

Christmas tree collection will remain unaffected by this change. Residents can leave natural Christmas trees curbside during the designated collection weeks or drop them off at a CRC. Christmas tree curbside collection will run for two weeks, between January 6-10, and January 13-17, on the regular collection day.
