Canadian Army Reserve training Waterdown
The Canadian Army Reserve will be conducting routine training exercises at City-owned properties over the course of three days, between February 6 and February 8, 2026. These activities form part of routine standard military training. They are pre-planned, authorized, and time-limited. Public safety is not at risk.
In Ward 15, residents may witness training activities taking places in the area of highway 6 and Parkside Dr. Other training locations are inside Ward 11 and Ward 2, in proximity to the HSR Mountain Transit Centre (near JCM Hamilton International Airport), and Pier 8 (near Bayfront Park) respectively.
During the exercises, residents may see:
Military personnel moving within and near the areas described above
Personnel wearing camouflage uniforms and carrying large rucksacks
Weapons with blank ammunition, fitted with protective yellow muzzle attachments
Organized movements consistent with training scenarios
No live ammunition will be used
The exercises will be supervised by trained military personnel and conducted under strict safety protocols. There is no anticipated risk to public safety and no disruption to essential City services is anticipated.
